چکیده
Fast-growing wood is rarely used by the community because of its low quality. This study aimed to modify sengon (Falcataria moluccana) and jabon (Anthocephalus cadamba) into magnetic so they have new functions. In this study, modification process was performed impregnating five-level concentrations Fe3O4 nanoparticles dissolved in two different dispersants, namely water a mixture furfuryl alcohol water. The impregnation initiated vacuum -0.5 bar, followed pressure 1 bar for 120 min. addition solution significantly increased physical properties wood. presence also proven Fe-O groups observed from FTIR spectrum analysis. field strength as concentration level increased. Based on results research, best treatment obtained with 7.5%. Keywords: wood, impregnation, nanoparticles, nano

Evaluation of Axial Impregnation as an Alternative to Classical Wood Vacuum Pressure Impregnation Method
The evolution of laws on the use of biocide products has led to important changes in the field of wood preservation leading to an increasing interest for non “biocidal treatments” like thermal or chemical modifications. While thermal modifications become more and more common on industrial scale, development of chemical modifications progresses slowly. One reason for the challenges encountered i...
متن کاملImpregnation of Bio-oil from Small Diameter Pine into Wood for Moisture Resistance
Wood pyrolysis oil consists of hundreds of complex compounds, many of which are phenolic-based and exhibit hydrophobic properties. Southern yellow pine was impregnated with a pyrolysis oil-based penetrant using both a high pressure and vacuum impregnation systems, with no significant differences in retention levels. Penetrant concentrations ranging from 5-50% pyrolysis oil/methanol on a volume ...
متن کاملDimensional Stabilization of Wood by Chemical Modification Using Isopropenyl Acetate
Chemical modification of wood with isopropenyl acetate (IPA) using iodine (I2) as catalyst has been carried out. Rubber wood (Hevea brasiliensis) specimens were reacted with IPA using iodine (I2) catalyst at 95°C up to 10 h under solvent free conditions. The effect of catalyst concentration and reaction time was studied. The extent of acetylation was measured by determining weight percent gain ...
متن کاملSurface modification of solid wood using different techniques
The rising demand for consistent, high quality, as well as high density wood species has raised interest in diff erent wood modifi cation techniques. One modifi cation method is wood densifi-cation, where solid bulk wood can be compressed, following softening, until its density reaches that of the cell wall (1.50 g/cm 3). It is well known that many of the properties of solid wood correlate with...
متن کاملInvestigation of the Creep Property of Fast-growing Poplar Wood Modified with Low Molecular Weight Resins
Fast-growing poplar wood was modified with low molecular weight ureaformaldehyde resin (UF) at 41.5% concentration or phenol-formaldehyde (PF) at concentrations of 15, 25, and 40%. The physical and mechanical properties were measured, and creep behavior tests were carried out under ambient indoor conditions. The specimens were subjected to 30 and 50% of their maximum bending load. The density, ...
